June 30, 2020 – Mouser Electronics, a distributor of Electronic components focused on introducing new products and offering massive inventory, is now stocking Panasonic PAN1780 modules. This Bluetooth™ 5.0 low energy Module is capable of transferring large amounts of data without a connection, providing a compact solution for applications such as Internet of Things (IoT), beacons (beacon) and mesh networks (mesh).

The Panasonic PAN1780 module, distributed by Mouser Electronics, features the Nordic nRF52840 single-chip controller, which features an Arm® Cortex®-M4F processor core with 1MB of embedded flash memory and 256KB of built-in RAM. With this powerful Nordic SoC, engineers can use the module in stand-alone mode without external processor support, reducing cost and saving space on the board. The module is also equipped with the Arm TrustZone® CryptoCell 310 security core, which supports a secure boot process, making it a suitable solution for edge computing applications.

The Bluetooth 5.0 function of the PAN1780 module can support a high symbol rate of 2Mbps through a high-speed low-power 2M PHY, and can also support longer transmission distances through a low-power coded PHY of 500Kbps or 125Kbps. The nRF52840’s high output power of up to +8dBm, excellent sensitivity (−103dBm at 125Kbps) combined with a low-power encoded PHY makes this module ideal for applications requiring long-distance communication. This module supports 802.15.4 (Thread and Zigbee) and NFC-A in addition to Bluetooth low energy capabilities with qualified Bluetooth mesh profile stacks.

This is a module in a compact 15.6mm × 8.7mm × 2.0mm package with the same form factor as the PAN1026A and PAN1762 modules, but with a smaller pitch and higher pin count. The PAN1780 module provides a space-saving solution for smart city infrastructure, industrial mesh networks, Industry 4.0 robotics, and smart medical applications.
